Closing ceremony of the basic training workshop for the Cambodian Red Cross Youth at CUP

The Youth Club of the Cambodian Red Cross at CUP completed successfully the basic training and delivered certificates to the trainees on 8 February 2010. The training course was conducted during 2 days on 5 and 6 February with the purpose to clarify to the students of the Youth Club the humanitarian works of the National Association of the Cambodian Red Cross in assisting the victims of any danger or disaster.

In the Closing ceremony, H.E. Dr. Chea Chamroeun, Member of Parliament and rector of the University expressed his appreciation for the achieved results of the training. He reviewed the history of the ICRC, which started during World War I . When Henri Dunant saw the excess of war victims, he initiated the foundation of the ICRC to assist the victims in a humanitarian way.

Dr. Chea Chamroeun said that the National Association of the Cambodian Red Cross, under the wisdom and leadership of Lok Chum Teav Bun Rany Hun Sen as president, strongly prospered in the process of providing humanitarian assistance to the victims without any discrimination. Through activities, based on good virtue and morality, Lok Chum Teav Dr. Bun Rany Hun Sen has been appreciate by both national and international public opinion as the eminent leader in the field of assistance to AIDS patients and humanitarian works.

The understanding that our youth received today from the training course has taught them to undertake activities to make themselves constructive and become good people in the society.

Dr. Chea Chamroeun also provided some concepts related to education and its purpose in building good leaders for the future with good morality and virtue.
