Sharing good practice

CUP also has a policy of sharing good practice, and one of the forums for doing this is the Academic Board. Here what is being done in one Faculty or program can be explained to the rest of the university so that everyone in CUP is able to learn and develop from each other.

Practical experience

Some programs include a workplace practicum component. In these instances, the academic staff concerned will liaise with the business / industry partners regarding the management and assessment of the components. As the practicum is considered an essential aspect of the program, students will be required to meet the practicum learning outcomes specific to the course, especially the integration of theory with practice within a professional setting.

Strategies

At CUP the teaching and learning strategies are continually being reviewed and revised to ensure that up to date learning technologies and methods are implemented.

Aims

CUP's programs aim to develop autonomous, critically reflective practitioners who are able to integrate knowledge with practice. To this end, its teaching methods and strategies aim at creating varied opportunities for students to interact with the program content

Team work

In order to encourage and develop teamwork, cooperation and interpersonal skills, group work is encouraged in certain parts of programs. In these instances, it may be appropriate to assess group projects. One example is in the Master of Development Management, where the students in the Methods of Research course undertake research and present the results of their research in groups of four.
